How could a cloud communications solution help you?

More and more businesses are making the switch to cloud-based solutions, and it’s not hard to see why. Some benefits include:

  • Large savings – Most importantly, lifetime costs are much lower than traditional phone lines. By moving to the cloud, upfront costs are slashed and maintenance cut to almost nothing.
  • No PBX equipment in house – As well as saving on equipment costs, not having to set up equipment in your offices means extra space for your business.
  • Painless updates and upgrades – New updates and upgrades are rolled out automatically through the cloud, with minimal impact.
  • Stay connected wherever you are – Use the same telephone system for different offices or with remote workers. Setting up new connections is quick and easy, regardless of location or device.
  • Flexible capacity – Pay-as-you-go monthly contracts or even pay-per-minute – only paying for what you use without the need for redundancy or extra capacity.

RingCentral's system features

RingCentral's flagship offering for businesses is RingCentral Office, a unified communications system encompassing phone calls, instant messaging, video conferencing, and more. Here are some of its key features.

Device Compatibility

RingCentral Office can be used across a wide range of devices, all of which can be connected with a single phone number. Personal devices can be used just as easily as work-specific devices.

Call Management

Ensure no customer is ever left hanging with auto-receptionist services and automatic call forwarding. Customise your greeting and set up call-flow rules to make sure every call goes exactly where it needs. The simple greeting can be expanded to multi-layered Interactive Voice Recorder (IVR) options on premium plans.

Integration

More businesses rely on software-as-a-service (SaaS) than ever before, and how a new addition integrates with your existing ecosystem can make transitions a dream or a nightmare. RingCentral Office is one of the first services recommended by Google for its Google Apps for Work. Salesforce, Office 365 and Zendesk also integrate seamlessly.

Phone numbers

Keep your existing phone numbers or choose new ones. RingCentral's VoIP service provides a range of freephone, local, non-geographic and even international numbers to boost local presence and make it easy for customers to get in touch.

Fax support

Faxes can be handled online without a separate machine or number, including faxes from emails.

Workspace collaboration

Group instant chat and document sharing allows communications and collaboration to thrive in today's flexible and remote working environment. Real-time messaging, file sharing, task management and shared calendars can all help to reduce your bloated inbox.

Who is RingCentral best for?

RingCentral Office's breadth of features and functions make it suitable for businesses of all sizes. That said, its affordable prices make it a particularly good option for businesses at the smaller end of the spectrum. The system is scalable, too, so businesses that use it will have ample room to grow.

What users say:

RingCentral's Better Business Bureau rating is particularly high. Product feature reviews are generally positive, while some users have reported some technical problems like call dropping if their network is not optimised for VoIP – make sure to consult with an IT company that specialises in VoIP if you think this applies to you.

Hardware compatibility

RingCentral phone compatibility is wide. Most VoIP phones can be used with its services, however will have to be manually unlocked by their manufacturer. Even analogue phones can be easily used with an analogue telephone adaptor (ATA). RingCentral recommend using their preconfigured phones as customer service is not able to troubleshoot effectively with phones from other manufacturers.
