Epson Photocopiers Review 2020

By Dan Barraclough

Epson Review

In one form or another, Epson have been manufacturing electronics goods since 1942 when they were founded in Suwa, Nagano Prefecture, Japan. From humble beginnings they built up a reputation that is second to none and in the process have managed to be at the cutting edge of printing machine design in particular, from the legendary electronic Epson copier, the EP 101, onwards.

With offices all over the world, in every continent other than the Antarctic in fact, Epson are truly a global leader and continue to innovate and manufacture products accordingly.

Products and Features

Ever since the production of their early electronic printers, Epson photocopiers have lead the market with a wide range products, in particular the Epson multifunction printer series, but their influence doesn’t end there. Epson sell more projectors than anyone else and continue to produce cutting edge electronics, such as smart glass and robot technology. Whether its textiles, storage or EPOS systems, Epson are adept at creating products and electronic solutions that continue to shape the business world.

What type of copies do you need?

Affordable Models

Epson Aculaser C1700

Truly affordable printers are hard to come by but the Epson Aculaser C1700 is as affordable as you can get. Described as Neat, straightforward and efficient, this colour printer is perfect for those with simple printing needs and despite its low price can still supply relatively high quality printing (600x600dpi) at reasonable speeds (12ppm for colour and 10ppm for mono).

Unlike the also ubiquitous Epson FX 890, which is certainly not overpriced for a class leader at £620, the Aculaser is a genuine budget printer, available for just £125. Although the Epson Aculaser C1700 may not be suitable for more industrial or large operation, this may be the perfect model for many businesses with simple printing needs.

Epson LQ Series

Available in 3 models, this series of printers is one of the leading sellers in the printing market and probably the leading range of dot matrix models in the world. At entry level is the Epson LQ 350, the most affordable printer that Epson offer other than the previously mentioned Aculaser, which offers high quality printing with minimal feature. Available from around £250 it is an affordable and perfectly well suited Epson copier for most.

A mid range model, the Epson LQ 590 offers a far more sturdy and reliable level of performance, making it perfect for those with heavier work loads, but it is at the high end of this range that this design comes into its own. The Epson LQ 690 is a versatile and user-friendly model that has been designed to give one of the best performances in dot matrix printing. Low power consumption can mean the machine virtually pays for itself in the long run and at £600, not cheap for a dot matrix machine but very affordable for a machine of this quality, it should not break the bank in the first place.

Epson Workforce Series

Epson multifunction printers are very highly thought of in the industry with a terrific range of products available you should be able to find one that suits your requirements. One of the highest selling series of printers is the Epson Workforce Pro.

In particular, the Epson Workforce WF 8590 is very impressive, with its attractive, modern design, it offers ecologically sound, high quality features. Epson A3 printer models are not quite as in depth as the Samsung range but the Epson Workforce WF 8590 more than makes up for that with high speeds and a reliability that is rarely matched. It also works perfectly well with Mac, Windows 7 and 8 and is easy to use for those who might be technologically challenged.
